Privacy Policy · Last updated May 9, 2026

Your chats stay yours.

Brainjar is a Chrome extension that saves and continues your Claude sessions. It is built local-first: there is no Brainjar account, no analytics, and no server collecting your data.

What we store

Brainjar stores the contents of Claude conversations you choose to save — including messages, titles, and timestamps — using Chrome's local storage API. This data lives on your device, inside your browser profile.

What we don't do

We don't run servers. We don't sell, share, or transmit your conversations to Brainjar or any third party. We don't use analytics, advertising SDKs, fingerprinting, or tracking of any kind.

Permissions, in plain English

  • storage
Save your captured chats locally in your browser.
  • scripting / tabs
Read conversation content from claude.ai tabs and inject saved context back when you continue a session.
  • clipboardRead / clipboardWrite
Copy and paste session snapshots when you ask Brainjar to.
  • host: claude.ai, api.anthropic.com
Brainjar only runs on Claude. It does not touch any other site.

Third parties

When you continue a session, the saved context is sent to Claude (Anthropic) as part of your normal chat — exactly as if you had pasted it yourself. Anthropic's handling of that data is governed by their own privacy policy.

Your control

You can delete any saved session from the Brainjar popup at any time. Uninstalling the extension removes all locally stored data.

Changes

If this policy materially changes, the date above will update and the extension listing will reflect the new version.
